Academy of Food and Wine Service and United Coffee to run barista training course
The Academy of Food and Wine Service (AFWS) has teamed up with United Coffee to offer a one-day barista training course.
Part of its Licence to Work programme, which provides entry-level training to front-of-house staff, the course will teach trainees to be more commercially aware and how to deliver a great coffee experience.
Sophie Roberts-Brown, executive director at the AFWS, commented: "We've worked with United Coffee to get all of their knowledge and experience into a structured training programme to develop the ‘Licence to Work in Coffee Service'. This training is a must for anyone currently working as a barista that has had no, or very limited training, or anyone considering starting a career in coffee."
Elaine Higginson, managing director, United Coffee UK & Ireland, added: "The AFWS has endorsed our training as it's as passionate as we are about raising the standard of the coffee in the cup and delivering a fast, friendly service."
