Excitement over prospect of Tom Kerridge bringing Butcher's Tap to London
Excitement has followed rumours that Tom Kerridge could bring his Butcher's Tap concept to London.
Kerridge has incorporated the Butcher's Tap & Grill (Chelsea) on Companies House, suggesting he may be looking to open a site in the affluent neighbourhood. Propel, which first reported the news, suggested the chef was set to take on the former Queen's Head site in Tryon Street for the opening.
The venue would be Kerridge's second Butcher's Tap following the launch of the first in Marlow, Buckinghamshire, in 2017, for which he partnered with pub group Greene King. It would also be the chef-restaurateur's third venue in London, joining Kerridge's Bar & Grill, which opened at the Corinthia hotel in Whitehall in 2018 and Kerridge's Fish & Chips, which opened at Harrods' dining hall in 2021.
Kerridge declined to comment when contacted by The Caterer.
The winner of two Cateys (the Chef Award in 2017 and Restaurateur of the Year – Independent in 2020), Kerridge's restaurant group also includes the two-Michelin-starred Hand & Flowers and the one-Michelin-starred Coach, both in Marlow.
