Third pub for Nick Jones-backed Beckford Arms team
The team behind two award-winning pubs, which count Soho House & Co chief executive Nick Jones among their investors, have bought a third site.
Dan Brod, Charlie Luxton, and Matt Greenlees, who run the Beckford Arms near Tisbury, Wiltshire, and the Talbot Inn in Mells, Somerset, have now acquired the Lord Poulett Arms in Hinton Saint George, Somerset.
They bought the pub from husband-and-wife owners Michelle Paynton and Steve Hill, who have run it for around 15 years, for an undisclosed sum.
The Lord Poulett has five bedrooms and was named one of Britain's 100 Best Restaurants in The Sunday Times in 2017 as well as being crowned Good Pub Guide Somerset Dining Pub of the Year six times, most recently in 2018.
Brod said: "The Lord Poulett is already a very successful place. It only has five bedrooms, but it has been run very passionately by its two owners and it just very much fitted into our style."
He added that he hoped for a "seamless transition" once he and his business partners take on the running of the pub next month and said they hoped to do "nothing" to it.
Brod and Luxton, who both previously worked for Soho House & Co, opened the Beckford Arms in 2009, before taking on the Talbot Inn in 2013 with Greenlees, who previously ran Soho House private members' club and hotel Babington House as general manager.
