Boutique hotel the Harper to open in former Norfolk glass factory in 2020
The Harper, a new boutique hotel, is set to open in a former glass blowing factory in North Norfolk in April 2020, promising 'luxury-sized' rooms and bespoke features reflecting the building's history.
Located in Langham near the coastal village of Blakeney, the property has been transformed with the decor paying tribute to its factory heritage with custom stained-glass windows, exposed beams and natural materials blended to create a welcoming rural aesthetic.
Sam Cutmore-Scott, founder of the 32-bedroom family-run hotel, has named different areas of the property in memory of his grandparents.
The Ivy living area has a wood burner and wine fridges. The Den games room features a pool table and board games, and the Yard has been designed for relaxation.
The hotel's Stanley restaurant will offer locally sourced seafood and a cosmopolitan menu with a Norfolk twist. There is also an outside kitchen, the Shack, for warmer days.
There will be three categories of bedrooms – big, bigger and biggest – alongside an indoor pool, hot tub, sauna, and steam room, plus two treatment rooms.
Cutmore-Scott said: "Here, where land meets sea, so shall quality meet informality – and we think they'll get on famously."
Rooms will start at £175 per night including breakfast.
