Soho House appoints new COO amid ongoing expansion
A former Soho House chef has been promoted to chief operating officer at the global members' club group.
Tom Collins joined the company in 2013 as head chef at the original Soho House, 40 Greek Street in London, and has since held several senior leadership roles.
He started in UK operations before moving to management of the European region in April 2022, which saw him open four Soho Houses in eight months.
At the start of 2023, his remit expanded to include Asia and he oversaw the launch of the first Soho House Bangkok.
Andrew Carnie, chief executive officer of Soho House & Co, said: "As operational lead across multiple successful regions, Tom has more than proven his ability during his long tenure with the business."
Soho House was founded by Nick Jones in London in 1995 and now runs a portfolio of over 50 members' clubs, co-working spaces and hotels worldwide.
It runs 13 UK locations in London, Brighton, Somerset, Oxfordshire and Windsor with openings planned in Glasgow and Manchester next year.
The group said its number of Soho House members grew to 184,542 in the third quarter of 2023, a 21.3% rise on the previous year.
Its waitlist hit 98,000 people, which the company said was an all-time high.
Total revenue rose 13% to $301m (£245.7m), while adjusted earnings doubled to $42.1m (£34.3) compared to the previous year.
A Soho House club opened in Mexico City in September and there are plans for sites to launch in Sao Paulo and Portland, Oregon around the end of the year.
Carnie said the group expected Soho House membership to grow to more than 210,000 people by the end of 2024.
