Sodexo retains catering contracts with two Scottish independent schools
Sodexo's independent school catering arm has secured contract extensions with two schools in Scotland.
After a formal tender process, Independents by Sodexo has retained its 30-year partnership with Edinburgh Academy for an additional five years.
This will see the foodservice provider deliver catering and cleaning services for the 1,200 students at its nursery, junior and senior schools.
Sodexo has also retained its catering contract with Strathallan School, a co-educational boarding and day school for more than 550 pupils in Perth, for a further seven years.
The future plans for both contracts include the renovation of each schools' dining areas.
Culinary teams will serve students dishes from Sodexo's new destination counters: Market Fresh, Kitchen Favourites and World Tour.
The World Tour counter will see students build their own dishes such as grilled Moroccan spiced pollock and chickpea harissa tahini with chargrilled vegetables, while the Kitchen Favourites counter will feature a roast dinner with sausages, red onion gravy, creamy potato, and winter root mash.
Sodexo's chefs will also share nutritional knowledge with students through its ‘Chefs in the Classroom' programme, which links health and wellbeing to the school curriculum.
Steve Hawkins, managing director, schools Sodexo UK & Ireland said: "With the students back to school this month, the local teams are really looking froward in showcasing the new offers, initiatives, and working with the schools on transforming their dining spaces."
Terms of the contracts were not disclosed
