Nicolas Burquier appointed MD of Pizza Hut Europe and Canada

Nicolas Burquier has been appointed managing director of Pizza Hut Europe and Canada, moving on from his role with the company as chief customer and operations officer for the US.

He will take up his new position on 1 January 2022, replacing Regina Borda, who will become managing direction of Pizza Hut Latin America and Iberia. Borda held the European role for three years, during which time she launched Pizza Hut's An Equal Slice for Everyone social purpose programme in the UK, supporting underrepresented entrepreneurs with training and capital.

Burquier joined Pizza Hut's parent company Yum! in 2005, initially working for sister brand KFC.

He said: "Continuing my journey with the Yum! and Pizza Hut brands is a privilege and I welcome the challenge of bringing my passion for customer experience into a new arena."

Vipul Chawla, president of Pizza Hut International, added: "Nicolas has pioneered new processes and technologies for customer service and delivery across the US – and will bring his innovative mindset to his new role."

Launched in 1958, Pizza Hut is the largest pizza company in the world with more than 18,000 restaurants in more than 100 countries.
