Hospitality businesses across the UK are booming, with new restaurants, hotels and bars opening every day. To help you keep tabs on the latest establishments to start serving, we've made a list of those that have opened in July 2022.
A new Island Poke is opening at London's Wimbledon, and in Kent Ruth Leigh and Oliver Brown have opened Updown, a renovated restaurant with rooms in a former farm. Find out what's new with this list.
Isibani
Co-founders Anthony Douglas Chuka and Abdul Malik Abubakar are to open West African diner Isibani in London's Knightsbridge. The name is taken from Zulu and means ‘to shine a light'.
Chef Victor Okunowo, former semi-finalist on MasterChef: The Professionals, is to head the restaurant. Okunowo was born in Nigeria and raised in London and was previously head chef at the Talking Drum in London's Peckham, as well as working at The Wolseley and Chiltern Firehouse.
The menu reflects recipes from Okunowo's childhood and pays homage to generations of West African cooking. It also celebrates the Ibo Nigerian heritage of the co-founders' mothers.
The restaurant can seat 20 downstairs, 20 upstairs and 15 on the roof terrace, and offers a tasting menu as well as à la carte.

Island Poké
Hero Brands' Island Poké is to open its 19th restaurant in London, in Wimbledon, serving its take on traditional Hawaiian cuisine. The group plans to open 100 stores in London over the next five years and a further four in Edinburgh.

Oarsman
The Oarsman has opened in Marlow, Oxford, offering British pub classics by chef Scott Smith of Wild Honey and Arbutus. The bistro, pub and wine bar seats 60 in the main dining room and 40 on the outdoor terrace.

Long Lane
The team behind the Racketeer in London's King's Cross has opened an Art Deco-meets-industrial style cocktail bar and eatery in London's Smithfield, serving drinks and small plates.

Updown
Ruth Leigh and Oliver Brown have opened Updown, a renovated restaurant with rooms in a former farm in Kent. The 17th-century, Grade II-listed building offers four rooms with a menu of hyper-seasonal Italian cuisine.

Lost Property
Dominvs Group has opened Lost Property hotel in London's St Paul's, marking the latest addition to Hilton's Curio Collection. Designed by Ica and Rani Ahluwalia, the 145-room venue is in a Grade II-listed building, with room rates starting from £170.

Taca Tacos
Taca, which first launched as a pop-up in 2019, has now opened as a permanent Mexican street food restaurant in London's Deptford Market Yard. It is open Wednesday to Sunday and serves brunch at weekends.

Peggy Jean, Richmond, London
Australian restaurant group the Daisy Green Collection is to open a water-top dining destination in London's Richmond.
The Peggy Jean, a pontoon boat that can seat more than 120 guests indoors and outdoors, will take residency in Oxford University's restored Jesus College Boat Race Barge. The design is a mash-up between Aussie beach clubs and boat race tradition, promising views of the Thames, Richmond Bridge and Richmond Riverside.
Boat builder Mark Edwards MBE, who was involved with the Gloriana barge for the Queen's Jubilee, led the renovation works for the Jesus College barge, which is over 100 years old.
The restaurant group's twelfth site will offer bottomless brunch during the day and transforms into a night-time restaurant and bar. Its Gozney woodfired pizza ovens, named ‘Peggy' and ‘Jean', will serve Neapolitan-style pizzas.

Porty Vault, Edinburgh
Porty Vault has opened its 42-capacity bar and 36-tap set-up in Edinburgh following a crowdfunding campaign. Chef Darren Lim oversees the American barbecue menu.

Mondo Sando, Peckham, London
Lockdown sandwich project Mondo Sando has launched its second site, in the White Horse pub in Peckham, London. The all-day menu is inspired by food from films by Hayao Miyazaki, fantasy novels and the Beano.

Vinoteca Birmingham
Brett Woonton and Charlie Young, founders of wine bar Vinoteca, have opened a 4,500 sq ft venue in Birmingham offering 200 wines, including bio-dynamic and organic varieties. Head chef Agoston Katona provides a weekly set lunch menu made from local ingredients.

Market House, Cambridge
Bill Brogan, former catering and conference manager at St John's College, Cambridge, has opened a five-storey restaurant with his wife Jinzhao Li. It offers breakfast, lunch and dinner, recipe tastings and workshops.

Bottle & Rye, Brixton, London
Chef Robin Gill and his wife Sarah are to open Bottle & Rye, a Parisian-inspired wine bar in London's Brixton. The pair behind Bermondsey Larder, Sorella, Darby's and Rye by the Water will pay homage to their love of the all-day bistros that line the streets of Paris.
Bottle & Rye offers French classics with a twist and a separate brunch menu between 10am and 2.30pm. Lewis Wright, who has collaborated with Robin since 2013, was responsible for the wine list. It focuses on minimal intervention natural wines from across Europe, with bottles starting at £26 and glasses from £5. Cocktails and beers from Brixton Brewery will also be available.
Design agency Studio Found, which also worked for Honey & Co and Big Mamma Group, has created a space decorated with marble, brass and walnut in a style reminiscent of European cafés.

Nico Buyo and Ñako Martinez are to open De Nadas, London's first empanadería, on Golborne Road in London. The restaurant will serve 15 different flavours of Argentinian empanadas, coffee and deli-style produce.

The Baring, London

Miznon, Soho, London
Israeli Chef Eyal Shani has opened his fast-casual restaurant, Miznon, in Soho. The Mediterranean diner has expanded globally since its first opening in Tel Aviv in 2011.

Kora by Tom Kitchin
Chef Tom Kitchin and his wife Michaela's latest restaurant has opened on the former site of their Southside Scran venue in Edinburgh.
Kora by Tom Kitchin is described as a "passionate celebration of Scotland's land and sea" and features a 65-cover dining room and separate New York-inspired bar area designed by Michaela.
It has taken over the building that previously housed the couple's French bistro Southside Scran, which launched in 2018 but had to close due to flooding in January 2020.
Kitchin, chef-director Dominic Jack and head chef James Chapman have created a menu based around Scotland's natural larder, underpinned by a nose-to-table ethos. Dishes include Blairgowrie gooseberry fool with Scottish oatmeal granola, and there is also a dedicated children's menu.

Sussex Snack Bar
