Michel Roux Jr to open London pub at the Langham
Michel Roux Jr is to open a pub at the Langham hotel in London, where he runs the food and beverage operation with his father Albert Roux.
The Wigmore pub will occupy a former banking hall and feature its own entrance on Regent Street, according to the London Evening Standard.
Developed to be a luxury take on the traditional British pub, dishes at the Wigmore will start at £12 and include veal and ham pie, devilled lamb's kidneys and paprika-glazed short rib with bone marrow crumb.
The pub will also serve cask ales and craft beers including the Wigmore's own house saison beer, brewed by Brew by Numbers.
The Langham's managing director Bob van den Oord told the London Evening Standard: "The Wigmore will offer Londoners a sense of community and relaxed conviviality", while Roux Jr said that customers would "find me at the bar with a glass of red".
The Rouxs signed a five-year deal with the 380-bedroom Langham hotel in April 2015. Chez Roux Ltd operates food and beverage across all 14 banqueting and private dining rooms alongside the Roux at the Landau restaurant, the Palm Court, Artisan bar, Langham Club and room service.
