First look: the Londoner on Leicester Square to open in April 2021
The £300m Londoner hotel on Leicester Square has set an opening date of April 2021, having originally been due to open this year.
The 16-storey, 350-bedroom ‘urban resort' is owned and operated by Edwardian Hotels London and has been designed by Yabu Pushelberg, behind the Four Seasons hotel in Downtown Manhattan New York.
The venue will feature six food and beverage outlets including a signature restaurant, a ground-floor tavern and a Japanese lounge bar with a rooftop terrace and fire pit.
The subterranean levels will house a variety of meeting spaces, including a ballroom accommodating up to 864 guests, seven meeting rooms, as well as a wellness space, swimming pool and gym, hair and nail salon, barber shop and two private screening rooms.

The property also secured a £175m ‘green loan' from HSBC UK, a first for the hospitality sector, which it said will be used to ensure it exceeds the BREEAM excellent category in building environmental and sustainable performance.
The Londoner is a member of Preferred Hotels & Resorts' Legend Collection.
