Harrods confirms Dining Room overhaul with four new outlets
Harrods has confirmed it will reopen its Dining Hall with restaurants from four new chefs including Masayoshi Takayama, who operates the three-Michelin-starred Masa in New York, and Dubai-based Neha Mishra who is bringing her ramen concept to the capital.
Takayama will open Sushi by Masa in October. It will seat 40 covers around an oval counter in the centre of the Dining Hall where guests will be served a la carte sushi options as well as an omakase menu.
In addition, Neha Mishra's Kinoya Ramen will open in the department store offering the likes of shio paitan (duck ramen), Wagyu tsukune, yakitori, and a Tonkotsu ramen.
They will be joined by Athanasios Kargatzidis, who will open Assembly Mezze and Skewers and a revised Pasta Evangelists offer in collaboration with Giancarlo Perbellini, the two-Michelin-starred chef behind Casa Perbellini in Verona, Italy.
Takayama said the business "could not imagine a better partner for our first restaurant outside the United States", while Kargatzidis said he was "delighted to create a menu that offers a unique experience for guests and truly showcases eastern Mediterranean cuisine in all its excellence".
Harrods director of restaurants and kitchens Ashley Saxton said: "This new evolution of the Dining Hall, one of the most iconic spaces within Harrods, will introduce an array of phenomenal new restaurants for guests to enjoy alongside exceptional cocktails, as well as live music and entertainment.
"Providing a truly unique dining experience for an evening out, this is the next step to support our vision of building Harrods as a leading late night dining destination in London."
Tom Kerridge will continue to operate his fish and chip counter at Harrods Dining Hall, offering fish and triple cooked chips, alongside lobster thermidor and cockle popcorn.
Kerridge said: "Harrods Dining Hall is an iconic destination for foodies from all over the world and we are excited to be on this culinary journey, serving the best fish and chips we can. Only the finest day-boat caught fish from the coast of Cornwall is on the menu and it's prepared by a skilled team of chefs with dedication and passion."
