Hameed Farook appointed executive chef of Andaz London Liverpool Street
Andaz London has welcomed Hameed Farook back as executive chef.
In his new role, Farook will pilot the development of culinary offerings and steer the direction of kitchen staff activities while ensuring refined dining experiences remain across all five of the hotel's F&B outlets, in-room, and 14 meeting and event venues.
Farook's appointment marks his second stint at Andaz; his previous tenure at Andaz spanned from 2010 to 2015, where he held 3 AA Rosette for three consecutive years.
In 2013, Farook was also recognised for Andaz London's scheme to provide culinary training and job opportunities to homeless individuals in partnership with the charity Providence Row.
On his return, Farook said: "I feel like I am finally returning home. Working at Andaz London previously was a turning point in my career, so to have the opportunity to return is incredible."
Prior to his re-appointment, Farook, who is originally from Chennai, India, was executive chef in Park Hyatt Hyderabad, India.
Previously, he was part of the pre-opening team at Park Hyatt Vienna, Austria, and has executively headed the kitchens in Sofitel St. James London and Radisson Blu Portman Square.
He brings two decades' worth of kitchen experience in various genres and cuisines.
Farook said: "My main goal is to connect people over food, be it the customer or my colleagues. One of the greatest virtues of my family is ‘Virundhombal', which literally translates to hospitality - I carry this with me as I start this new role".
