Gino D'Acampo and Innside by Meliá hotels announce restaurant partnership
Spanish lifestyle hotel brand Innside by Meliá has signed up Italian celebrity chef Gino D'Acampo to create a series of restaurants and bars across its UK properties.
The first collaboration for the new partnership will be at the 208-bedroom Innside Manchester. A new all-day dining concept, First Street Bar & Kitchen, will feature an open-plan restaurant, Spritz bar and terrace.
Announcements about further venues are expected in the coming weeks. A second Innside by Meliá hotel for the UK will open in Liverpool on 16 August, with future openings set for Birmingham, Newcastle and Glasgow.
Garry Fortune, cluster general manager at Meliá Hotels International, described the announcement as "a very exciting time" for the two brands. "Gino D'Acampo is an obvious choice for us, due to its modern and stylish dining experience and its successful internal operational structure. We will create unique experiences with Gino D'Acampo, creating a dining hotspot for locals, business and leisure travellers alike."
D'Acampo added: "After many years of talking to Meliá about a partnership I am super-excited to be working with Garry and the team.
"I want the restaurants to not only provide great Italian food to hotel guests but to be a destination for food lovers to hang out from morning until night in cool surroundings. My team will be working in partnership with Meliá to deliver the highest standard of food service for guests, whether they are dining in my restaurant, attending a conference or celebrating a special occasion. I cannot wait to get started."
Innside by Meliá, which has 28 hotels worldwide, is part of the wider 380-strong Meliá Hotels International portfolio, which includes the brands Gran Meliá Hotels & Resorts and ME by Meliá.
D'Acampo is best known for his appearances on the cooking slot on ITV's This Morning and for teaming up with Gordon Ramsay and Fred Sirieix for ITV's Gordon, Gino & Fred. He opened Gino D'Acampo My Restaurant in Manchester in 2015, which he expanded into Leeds and Harrogate over the next two years.
In 2017, he announced a partnership with fashion retailer Next, with who he has partnered on three in-store restaurants.
Gino D'Acampo Hotels & Leisure was launched in 2020 as part of the chef's plans for international expansion.
