Four-AA-rosette Feathers hotel in Woodstock sold to Ede Homes Group
The four-AA-rosette Feathers hotel in Woodstock, Oxfordshire has been sold to a local hotelier and property developer for an undisclosed sum.
The 21-bedroom, Grade II-listed hotel was acquired by Daniel Ede, whose Ede Homes Group already owns hotels No. 192 in Oxford and Old Abbey House in Abingdon.
It is the second time the hotel has changed hands in two years, after it was sold to Pank Koria off a guide price of £2.75m in 2021.
Originally a 17th century town house, the hotel features a two-AA-rosette restaurant and is located close to Blenheim Palace - a UNESCO World Heritage Site - as well as the Bicester Village shopping destination, and the Cotswold Hills.
"We're planning to build on the hotel's reputation and over time introduce new technology to help grow the business further, while maintaining its original beauty," said Ede.
Ede Homes Group has also secured planning permission to redevelop the site of the former Victoria Hotel on the Abingdon Road in Oxford into the 38-bedroom Edge hotel, which it said would open soon.
Peter Brunt, director in Hotels Agency at Colliers, who managed the sale, said: "The Feathers is a well-known hotel in the region, which received plenty of interest from potential buyers due to its close location to the many hotspots of the Cotswolds.
"I'm pleased that we've found a new owner who is committed to maintaining the property for hospitality and looking to invest further in the business – it's an added bonus that they're a real local as well."
