Ellen Chew brings Mrs Chew's Chinese Kitchen brand to London
Birmingham's Mrs Chew's Chinese Kitchen has arrived in London with the launch of a site at Westfield Shepherd's Bush.
The restaurant is the latest offering from Chew On The Group, which in addition to the Mrs Chew's brand, also operates Shan Shui and Simply Noodles in Bicester Village; Lotus Leaf in Westfield Stratford; Arome Bakery in Covent Garden; and Lobos Tapas in London Bridge and Soho.
Mrs Chew's is described as offering "unpretentious and authentic Chinese food that's prepared from scratch" as a nod to the Singaporean and Chinese heritage of Chew On the Group's founder Ellen Chew.
"There is such variety and depth to Chinese food, so with Mrs Chew's we are giving people the ‘highlights' and building upon my 15 years running restaurants in London, to deliver good quality halal food, in a fast and efficient environment," said Chew.
The menu at Mrs Chew's includes Canton roast duck; spicy handmade Dan Dan noodles and spring onion noodles with crispy aromatic tofu. A wide array of dim sum, ranging from siu man (open faced steamed chicken and prawn dumplings) to Golden Lava salted egg buns, is also available.
The new restaurant is located alongside other eateries on the Balcony at Westfield. The Birmingham outpost is situated at Grand Central station.
