Dedicated end-point assessment organisation launched to support hospitality apprenticeships
EHAP, a new end-point assessment organisation, offers specialist hospitality assessments for apprentices working across restaurants, hotels and catering businesses.
The 28-day end-point assessments will include five standards: hospitality team member, hospitality supervisor, hospitality manager, commis chef and chef de partie.
The assessment team will comprise individuals with a Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement (CAVA) who have previously worked in hospitality, either as an apprentice or in other operational and management roles.
The company has been approved by the Institute for Apprenticeships and Technical Education (IFATE), the government body which monitors apprenticeship training standards.
There are currently 322 end-point assessment organisations in the UK working across all sectors, and only up to 4% of these cover the hospitality sector.
The organisation will be headed up by Dan Power, who was previously head of projects at Umbrella Training and has also held roles at People 1st, where he consulted on the Apprenticeship Levy onset in 2017. He said: "I am delighted to be launching EHAP at such a critical time for the industry. We are very aware of the vital role apprentices are going to play in the future of the sector so it's crucial that there are more credible end-point-assessment organisations to help tackle the pending demand.
"For me, it is important that EPAs are able to offer agile and seamless services which are critical to the people management strategy of any organisation."
