Dominvs puts Holborn Viaduct site up for sale
Dominvs Group has decided to sell the 65 Viaduct site in Holborn, which it said was due to the number of unofficial approaches the group has received from interested purchasers over the summer.
The group had planned to transform the site into what it described as "London's greenest building", featuring a 3,700 sq m green wall, anticipated to be the largest in Europe. The developer claimed the wall would generate seven tonnes of oxygen and extract nine tonnes of CO2 in a year.
Cushman and Wakefield is marketing the property, which won planning consent earlier this year for a 207,754 sq ft mixed-use scheme, anchored by a 382-bedroom hotel, as well as workspace and both a ‘skybar' and a public rooftop viewing gallery.
Jay Ahluwalia, director at Dominvs Group, said: "This landmark 0.53-acre site at 61-65 Holborn Viaduct is adjacent to the Amazon HQ and the Museum of London and is perfect for a headquarters building or landmark hotel. Sites in the City of London region of this quality are rarely brought to market and Dominvs Group has received interest in the site from various parties prior to it being officially offered for sale."
Dominvs Group's hospitality portfolio also includes the Dixon hotel in Tower Bridge, the Arbor City Hotel London, as well as two hotels in Aberdeen operating under a franchise agreement with InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG).
