Dmitri Magi to leave his role as culinary director at Claridge's
Dmitri Magi is to leave his position as culinary director at Claridge's at the end of July after just under a year in the role.
The luxury London hotel said in a statement that he was departing to "pursue new opportunities in the industry".
"We would like to thank Dmitri for all his hard work, creativity and dedication over the last four years and wish him all the best for the future," a Claridge's spokesperson said.
Magi joined the hotel in 2019 as executive chef at Daniel Humm's Davies & Brook restaurant, but the site closed at the end of 2021 after Claridge's rejected Humm's plans to move to a vegan menu similar to his three-Michelin-starred Eleven Madison Park in New York.
Magi was then promoted to culinary director and tasked with relaunching the Davies & Brook space and the hotel's ArtSpace Cafe, as well as overseeing the wider food and beverage operation.
His appointment last summer followed a shake-up of Claridge's top team which saw executive chef Martyn Nail and head chef Adam Peirson leave the hotel after 36 years and 22 years respectively.
It has not been confirmed if a successor to Magi has been found. Claridge's has a history of working with big-name chefs and its main fine dining restaurant was run by Gordon Ramsay Group for 12 years until 2013.
It was later replaced by Simon Rogan's Fera, which won a Michelin star but closed in 2018.
