Crerar Hotels completes £4m refurbishment of Isle of Mull Hotel & Spa
Crerar Hotels has completed a £4m refurbishment of its Isle of Mull Hotel & Spa in Craignure, Scotland.
The investment, which began last October, involved a £3m revamp of the hotel's 75 bedrooms and bathrooms, the creation of a sea-deck overlooking Craignure Bay, the addition of luxury suites and the launch of new restaurant the Oran na Mara Bistro.
An additional £1m has been invested in launching a wellness facility with four treatment rooms, a 17-metre swimming pool, sauna and steam rooms. Outdoor facilities include a ‘Wilderness Spa' with a hot tub, sauna and swim deck for wild swimming.
In 2019 Crerar Hotels announced a multi-million-pound investment to bring all seven of its hotels up to at least four-star standard to meet growing demand from affluent tourists from the UK and Asia.
In June the Isle of Mull Hotel was granted an AA four-star rating, while the bistro was awarded its first AA rosette.
General manager John De Villiers said: "We're delighted to be showcasing the final results of an outstanding refurbishment which has transformed the guest experience at our island hotel. "From the outset, our goal was to create a small slice of understated luxury that reflects the stunning natural backdrop of the island while offering a warm and welcoming experience for all who come to stay. I think we have delivered on that goal and then some."
Crerar Hotels' four-star portfolio includes Oban Bay in Argyll; Golf View in Nairn; Deeside Inn in Ballater; and Loch Fyne Hotel and Spa and Thainstone House, both in Inverurie, Aberdeenshire. Its Glencoe Inn in the Highlands has five stars.
