Coal Exchange hotel remains closed after water pipe burst
The Coal Exchange hotel in Cardiff has temporarily closed after a water pipe burst on Saturday evening.
All guests were moved to another venue in the city but the property remains shut while the damage is assessed.
The hotel said it was unable to give an "exact timeframe" on reopening but hoped to be able to welcome guests back for the Wales v England Six Nations rugby match on Saturday (28 February).
The Coal Exchange said in a statement: "Guests will be updated on the situation as soon as we know. Any guests who have been contacted by the team at the hotel. We are asking guests to let us contact them with regards to their booking as our teams are experiencing a higher number of calls at the moment."
The Grade II-listed hotel building was built in 1883 and was once where the world price of coal was set.
It reopened as a hotel in 2017 following a £40m revamp and was part of the Signature Living group until the business fell into administration in 2020.
