Cinnamon Collection to open first international restaurant in Dubai
Vivek Singh's Cinnamon Collection is to open its first international restaurant at the luxury Park Hyatt Dubai hotel resort in November.
The Indian restaurant group has agreed a two-year multi-brand residency that will see each of its dining concepts – the Cinnamon Club, Cinnamon Kitchen and Cinnamon Bazaar – rotate at the resort.
This will begin with Cinnamon Bazaar opening this year. Its interiors will combine bright tiling and hanging lanterns while the menu is set to include lamb rogan josh shepherd's pie; grilled aubergine with sesame peanut crumble; and a selection of chaats.
In spring 2022 the restaurant will transform into a Cinnamon Kitchen before changing to the Cinnamon Club in autumn 2022 as the final part of the residency.
Singh, who is executive chef and founder of the Cinnamon Collection, said: "This year marks the 20th anniversary of our first restaurant, the Cinnamon Club, so it feels a fitting moment to extend our brand reach overseas."
Luis Cobo, hotel manager at Park Hyatt Dubai, said: "We could not have imagined a better brand partner and are confident that the Cinnamon Collection's success in London will be emulated in Dubai when we open the restaurant later this year."
Singh opened the first Cinnamon Club restaurant in London in 2001 and has since opened Cinnamon Kitchen City in 2008, Cinnamon Bazaar in Covent Garden in 2016 and Cinnamon Kitchen Battersea in 2017.
The chef recently sat down with The Caterer to discuss the group's 20th anniversary and what the future holds for his restaurants. Read the interview here.
