Chick ‘n' Sours to open fourth restaurant

Fried chicken restaurant group Chick ‘n' Sours is to open its fourth site in a 17th-century building near Liverpool Street in London in early November.

The 50-cover venue on Artillery Passage, spread across two floors, will include a take-away hatch and will be open seven days a week.

Founders David Wolanski and former DJ Carl Clarke will offer monthly specials at the site, as well as a new lunch menu.

Chick ‘n' Sours' ‘Whole Fry' chicken will be available every day of the week, rather than just on Sundays. And there will be a full plant-based menu on offer, featuring meat-free ‘No Way Spicy Nuggs' nuggets. Also on the menu will be ‘bang bang cucumbers', a vegan pickled watermelon salad and fries with vegan sriracha mayo.

The restaurant also has a new range of £5 cocktails and a Smock Alley fishbowl to honour the previous name of the street on which it sits.

Clarke said: "With all the uncertainty looming over Brexit we are just so grateful to be able to continue on our journey of spreading some fried chicken love. It's such a cosy little passage steeped in rich history and just feels right for us, just off the beaten track and feels a bit naughty which always excites us."

Wolanski added: "It's such a great location, tucked away but still in the beating heart of this wicked area. The new lunch menu is going to be banging and who can resist a £5 cocktail! We've always wanted a take-away hatch where you can come and quickly get your Chick ‘n' Sours fix and finally we've found a site where we can make it happen."

The duo founded Chick ‘n' Sours in 2015 with the launch of their first site in Dalston in London.
