Cantinetta Antinori to make London debut this autumn
The Antinori family, known for Cantinetta Antinori, located in the 15th-century Palazzo Antinori in Florence, is bringing the restaurant brand to the UK for the first time this autumn.
The opening will be a joint venture between the Antinori family and restaurateurs the Giraudis. The UK's first Cantinetta Antinori will open on 4 Harriet Street adjacent to Sloane Street in London.
The restaurant has been signed by landlord Cadogan on a 10-year lease and will span a 3,700 sq ft, three-storey period building and offer relaxed, all-day traditional Tuscan dining, fine wines and live music.
Allegra Antinori said: "We opened the first Cantinetta Antinori in Florence back in 1957, moved by the desire of having people experiencing a taste of typical Tuscan hospitality, with perfect pairings between our wines and the traditional cuisine. Still moved by the same intent, we are excited to begin our new story in London and welcome the community with our heartfelt Tuscan hospitality."
Harry Mead, managing director, added: "Cantinetta Antinori is synonymous with Tuscan warmth and sun – a simple, relaxed yet elegant atmosphere, old-school Italian charm, finest food and wine accompanied by live music every evening. The menu offers the best Tuscan specialties, using fresh, authentic Italian ingredients to recreate many of the traditional dishes for which Cantinetta Antinori is so well known."
Architect Humbert & Poyet, in collaboration with ArchFlorence, has been appointed to design Tuscan-inspired interiors.
Claire Barber, director of asset management at Cadogan, said: "Cantinetta Antinori will bring vibrancy and warmth to Sloane Street – a great addition to our hospitality offer in the neighbourhood.
Since opening in Italy in 1957, the Cantinetta Antinori brand has since been expanded to Zurich, Moscow, Vienna and Monaco.
Davis Coffer Lyons advised Cadogan. Saul Lewin acted for Cantinetta Antinori.
