Brightstar Hospitality to revive the Grosvenor hotel name at new property
Brightstar Hospitality has acquired the 76-bedroom Villare hotel in Stratford-upon-Avon for an undisclosed sum.
According to Companies House, the hotel was previously privately owned by Polish national Piotr Kolodziej.
The building started life as a hotel in 1967, operating as a bed and breakfast business before being amalgamated with adjoining properties and expanding to its current size.
Clive Nicholls (pictured), chairman of Brightstar Hospitality, lives in Stratford-upon-Avon and remembers the early years of the hotel. "Our intention is to upgrade the hotel, bring back its original name and take it back to its glory days," he said.
"We have had this hotel in our sights for a considerable time and are looking forward to welcoming guests from all over the world to showcase the best of hospitality in Stratford-upon-Avon."
The addition of the Villare hotel takes the portfolio of Brightstar Hospitality up to 13 hotels. The hotel management company operates a mix of independent hotels, such as the Feathers in Woodstock, Oxfordshire, and St Giles House in Norwich, and branded properties, including the Holiday Inn Leicester – Wigston and Mercure Nottingham City Centre.
