Brasserie Bar Co to trial pub with rooms market
Brasserie Bar Co will be focusing on expanding its pub division and strengthening its freehold estate, as well as "trialling" the pub with rooms market, executive chairman Mark Derry said in the group's most recent financial results.
In documents filed with Companies House for the financial year to 26 June 2022, Derry said the business was "well positioned for future development and expansion in 2023 and beyond" following its sale to Alchemy Partners last year.
He added that the company would only be acquiring freehold assets to improve financial stability. Since the year end, Brasserie Bar Co has acquired eight freeholds from its existing portfolio for £26.5m and two new freehold pubs for £5.8m.
The group, which operates the Brasserie Blanc and the White Brasserie Company brands, saw a "record-breaking result" of £57.5m in group sales and restaurant earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) of £12.8m for the year with the aid of VAT and business rates relief. It also saw turnover of £23.5m and a pre-tax loss of £6.1m.
Brasserie Bar Co operates 14 Brasserie Blanc restaurants and 18 pubs under the White Brasserie Company.
