Boparan signs second franchise partner for Slim Chickens roll-out

Boparan Restaurant Group (BRG) has signed a second franchise partner to accelerate the growth of its Slim Chickens brand.

BRG has entered into a franchise development agreement with KK Restaurants SW to open an initial five outlets in the south west of England. The first restaurant under the new agreement will open in Exeter next month, the 10th Slim Chickens restaurant in the UK.

KK Restaurants is an established franchise operator and has previously rolled out hospitality brands in the region including Pizza Hut Delivery and Costa Coffee.

Judd Williams, BRG's franchise director, said: "We are pleased to have secured a franchise partner as experienced as KK Restaurants SW. This supports our ambitious growth plans to roll-out the Slim Chickens brand across the UK."

Simon Wright of KK Restaurants SW added: "Slim Chickens is a scalable brand with bags of potential and we are delighted to be partnering with BRG to bring better chicken to customers in the south west."

The first franchise agreement for the brand was signed with JRK Restaurants in August for at least five outlets on the south coast. Slim Chickens was founded by Tom Gordon and Greg Smart in 2003 and operates more than 100 restaurants in the US.
