Blakes hotel appoints new general manager
Stefano Squecco has been appointed general manager at Blakes hotel in London, having previously been deputy general manager at the Exclusive Collection's Pennyhill Park hotel in Surrey.
Squecco joins the 47-bedroom, Anouska Hempel-designed property in Kensington after working at Pennyhill for over three years. In his new role he will be responsible for the daily operations and management of Blakes.
He said: "I am thrilled to work alongside such a dedicated team and help to preserve Anouska Hempel's legacy in time. But also engage all stakeholders on our values to build a perfect relationship between the team and our guests by offering not only good but great service, attention to detail, warm hospitality and a sense of generosity."
He also previously worked as director of operations at the Radisson Blu Portman hotel in London, the Rome Cavalieri Waldorf Astoria in Italy, and the Hilton Molino Stucky Venice. He replaces previous general manager Neil Mcmillan.
The property opened in 1978 and is considered to have been one of the first boutique hotels. It has been owned by Apostrophe owner Meir Abutbul and hotelier Navid Mirtorabi since 2010.
