Ben Danielsen departs Cameron House
Ben Danielsen has left his role as general manager of Cameron House in West Dunbartonshire to take up a new position in his native Norway.
According to Danielsen's LinkedIn, he left the 208-bedroom property in August last year, a year after joining to oversee the relaunch of the hotel following a fatal fire in 2017 as well as a £17.5m extension. As of this month, he takes up a new role as head of marketing and communications at DNT Oslo og Omegn, the Norwegian Trekking Association.
"Being part of a large membership organisation who is one of the most well-known brands in Norway will challenge me in many new ways and needs me to move outside of my comfort zone… but boy am I up for that challenge!" posted Danielsen on LinkedIn.
"There is of course a hospitality development part of the role as well where we are welcoming almost 200,000 (pre-pandemic) overnight guests per year in our 113 lodges. We also have almost 95,000 members and to top that of we had over 46,000 participants at our 2,400 events last year… To do this is an enormous amount of planning and preparation as well as the actual doing and completing… and I get to be part of that."
Danielsen previously held roles as general manager of the Vale Resort in Cardiff and the Crowne Plaza Resort Colchester, as well as the Royal Crescent in Bath and four years as operations director of the Vineyard Group.
Representatives of Cameron House confirmed Danielsen's departure and said a replacement would be announced shortly.
