BaxterStorey opens first independent coffee outlet in Manchester
BaxterStorey has opened the doors to its first independent coffee outlet in Manchester Piccadilly Place.
The newly refurbished outlet, the Coffee Hive, has an all-day grazing menu, including fresh snacks, sweet treats and plant-based wraps, as well as its own in-house 100% Arabica and Fairtrade certified coffee brand.
Developed in with the Sol & Café partnership in Peru, where BaxterStorey's beans are grown and picked, the beans are roasted in the world's first carbon neutral gold standard roastery in the UK. Working with One Carbon World, it offsets the emissions through a tree planting project in Uruguay and a wind energy project in India.
Every cup sold contributes to the BaxterStorey Foundation supporting the Sol & Café partnership, helping coffee farmers create a sustainable coffee production and farming future.
Judith Tutton, operations director, said: "We operated a Starbucks franchise for many years in this location and have many loyal customers. The Covid-19 pandemic forced us to close for many months, so we are delighted to have launched our new venture, the Coffee Hive, and bring this exciting new space to Manchester city centre."
Jeremy Wood, regional managing director, added: "We are very aware of the demand for great tasting coffee and nutritious breakfast and lunch options, and it's been brilliant to work alongside local suppliers to create a fresh, seasonal grab and go offer for the local community."
