BaxterStorey wins catering contract with Asahi
BaxterStorey has won a catering contract with Japanese global beer brand Asahi at its UK headquarters in Woking.
The value of the contract, which will run for two years, was not disclosed.
The deal has seen BaxterStorey introduce sustainability initiatives such as a rooftop herb garden providing basil and thyme for the restaurant, while coffee grounds are recycled for customers to use as fertiliser in their gardens.
The upper level car park is home to four beehives, producing honey that is sold in the restaurant with all proceeds going to charity.
Service manager Walter Schmitt and chef Lucas Zmyslony oversee the in-house cafe and hospitality offer, which serves dishes such as lamb moussaka; Recheardo spiced chicken Dahl with roasted cauliflower and mango chutney; and beer-battered haddock with chunky fries and homemade tartare.
A grab and go offer, named the Society, offers fresh panini, salads and sandwiches such as the jerk chicken with pineapple salsa and naked slaw bloomer. Any surplus items are donated to the local York Road Project to support the homeless.
A mix of Asahi-branded drinks are served at the on-site bar, which is open to employees twice a week.
Annabelle Lloyd-Jane, facilities manager at Asahi, said: "We've been really impressed with BaxterStorey since they were awarded the catering contract for Asahi House and we are looking forward to working with them over the coming years.
"Their passion for locally sourced, fresh food with a personal service has been welcomed by all our employees."
BaxterStorey employs more than 5,500 people catering to over 600 locations in the UK, Ireland and Europe.
