BaxterStorey wins five-year catering contract with Somerset County Cricket Club
BaxterStorey has secured a five-year contract to run hospitality and catering services at Somerset County Cricket Club (SCCC).
It will see the group cater for club members and anyone who visits the Cooper Associates County Ground.
SCCC and BaxterStorey will work in partnership to create a more "diverse" matchday menu and will seek feedback from club members and stakeholders over the coming months.
Last week the club held an open day for members to try its 2022 menu, which included Korean-style chicken with spice fries and katsu ketchup; Brixham cod battered goujons, chips and pea puree; and parsnip velouté with smoked yoghurt.
Gordon Hollins, chief executive of SCCC, said: "Catering is all about people and we were very impressed by BaxterStorey's leadership and their desire to work in true partnership.
"We believe this will be the beginning of an outstanding working relationship as we aim to consistently provide memorable experiences for our members and stakeholders and grow into the venue of choice in the South West, which will allow for substantial investment in cricket."
BaxterStorey's nutritionists will work alongside the cricket club's strength and conditioning team to provide bespoke dishes for its playing staff.
Mark Allan, managing director of BaxterStorey, said: "We will be working with local suppliers and chef consultants to celebrate the best in south-west produce.
"Our experience working with sporting venues gives us a real understanding about what it takes to cater for a successful club like Somerset. Our chefs understand the important role that food plays in peak athletic performance, and we will bring nutritious, delicious dishes to both players, members and fans."
BaxterStorey employs more than 5,500 people at over 600 locations, providing catering and hospitality services to clients and customers in business and industry.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
