Barnsdale Hall rebrands as Rutland Hall Hotel & Spa
Barnsdale Hall hotel has rebranded as Rutland Hall Hotel & Spa as it nears the end of a multimillion-pound refurbishment.
The property in Oakham, Rutland, used the government-enforced lockdown closures to push ahead with an extensive refurbishment programme. Refurbishments to the restaurant, kitchen and bedrooms are under way with a completion date in November. Works on the main hall and reception are expected to complete at a later date.
Guests can book lodges and some hotel rooms that have already been refurbished. Leisure facilities are open as normal and there is a temporary restaurant operating from the hotel's Edith Western Suite, while the main restaurant is being refurbished.
Rutland Hall Hotel & Spa is making changes to its grounds, including additional outdoor seating and firepit areas, as well as a new terrace at the front of the new restaurant.
The restaurant has also launched a new menu by recently appointed executive head chef Sumit Chakrabarty.
He said: "I'm delighted to have joined the culinary team at Rutland Hall Hotel & Spa, especially at this exciting time of transformation. I'm working with management on building a strong kitchen team that, I hope, will inspire each other's creativity and ultimately enable us to establish Rutland Hall Hotel & Spa as the go-to destination for food and drink in this area."
John Higham, director and general manager of the hotel, said: "The team has been working towards this moment for many months and we are thrilled to finally reveal the details of our rebranding to Rutland Hall Hotel & Spa. With the hotel under new ownership and much of its offering being reimagined and refurbished during the lockdown, it seemed the perfect time for a complete brand overhaul.
"Although reopening with a different name, a crisp new look and upgraded facilities, our dedication to providing guests with an unforgettable experience remains unchanged. We're looking forward to welcoming guests and giving them the chance to experience the new and improved Rutland Hall Hotel & Spa first-hand."
The hotel has 66 bedrooms, 49 timeshare lodges and apartments, eight function suites, three bars and restaurants, a swimming pool, squash and tennis courts, gym and spa.
