Banh Banh to open second site in Brixton

Vietnamese street-food brand Banh Banh has secured a second site in London's Brixton following its debut launch last year.

The first Banh Banh was opened in London's Peckham by the five Nguyen siblings, and remains independently owned. The menu has been designed to reflect the food they grew up eating, cooked chiefly by their grandma, who was a chef in Saigon during the 1940s.

The 1,400 sq ft, 65-cover is located at 326 Coldharbour Lane and includes a bar area for casual seating. The restaurant will be designed by an in-house team.

Kevin Nguyen said: "We are thrilled to expand and open our second restaurant in Brixton. As a small, family-run restaurant, we have appreciated Shelley Sandzer's exceptional knowledge in both the area and the industry."

Ben Freeman at restaurant and leisure property firm Shelley Sandzer, which acted for Banh Banh, said: "Brixton has become a key destination for top restaurant brands and we have no doubt that Banh Banh will also reap the rewards of this buzzing location."

Reviews: The critics descend on Cafe Monico this week, where you would have to be pretty fussy not to find something up your street >>
