B Corp Italian restaurant brand Miscusi to open first UK site
Italian pasta brand and B Corp Miscusi is to open its first restaurant outside of Italy in London this November, after taking a site at the Yards in Covent Garden.
Originally launched in Milan and now with 12 restaurants across seven Italian cities, Miscusi runs a regenerative agriculture project just outside of Milan to research, understand and reverse the effects of climate change through biodiversity.
Entrepreneur Alberto Cartasegna, who was named on the Forbes Under 30 list in 2019, co-founded the brand in 2017 aged 26 with Filippo Mottolese.
The restaurants serve pasta with seasonal ingredients and each dish is created with a nutritionist, with guests able to choose from recommended pasta combinations or create their own personalised dishes.
In addition to pasta, a range of appetisers and desserts will be on offer, as well as a selection of wines. Once open, the restaurant will work towards being plastic-free and zero waste and its delivery packages will be recyclable.
The new site will be located at 23 Slingsby Place, formerly Suda Thai.
Cartasegna, co-founder and chief executive of Miscusi, said: "London is where I took my first steps as a kitchen assistant at 18 years old, and as a brand it's been our dream for a long time to bring the Miscusi experience to the UK."
At the beginning of the year, Miscusi secured €20m (£17m) investment from venture capital fund MIP, and the American fund Kitchen Fund.
