Angela Hartnett's new restaurant on Pétrus site to be named Cafe Murano
Angela Hartnett's new venture on the site of what was Pétrus in London's St James's Street is to be called Cafe Murano.
The new 75-cover site will open in November.
Hartnett has appointed Zoe Charlton-Brown, former operations manager at Smart Hospitality, as general manager and Sam Williams as head chef. Williams has previously worked alongside Hartnett at Murano for the past two years.
Current Murano head chef Diego Cardoso will also oversee the launch of the new site.
The restaurant will offer "regional focused dishes at an accessible price-point", in a relaxed environment.
Interiors at the new restaurant will be designed by Russell Sage.
The launch comes after The Crown Estate announced details of a £500m investment programme for the St James's area.
It will closely follow the opening of the Merchant's Tavern in London's Shoreditch, set for this month. Hartnett will be opening that restaurant in partnership with chef Neil Borthwick and Canteen founders Dominic Lake and Patrick Clayton-Malone.
