Angela Hartnett to open new St James's restaurant in October
Angela Hartnett is set to open a new restaurant in London's St James's in October this year.
The as-yet-unnamed site will see the Michelin-starred Murano chef take over the premises of 33 St James's Street to launch an 80-cover restaurant. It will include a stand-alone bar serving aperitivi and antipasti.
The restaurant will offer "regional focused dishes at an accessible price-point", in a relaxed environment.
Head chef will be Sam Williams, who has worked with Hartnett at Murano for the past two years. Current Murano head chef Diego Cardoso will also oversee the launch of the new site.
Interiors at the new restaurant will be designed by Russell Sage.
The launch comes after The Crown Estate announced details of a £500m investment programme for the St James's area.
It will closely follow the opening of the Merchant's Tavern in London's Shoreditch, set for September. Hartnett will be opening that restaurant in partnership with chef Neil Borthwick and Canteen founders Dominic Lake and Patrick Clayton-Malone.
