Andy McFadden leaves Pied à Terre
Chef Andy McFadden has left David Moore's Michelin-starred Pied à Terre restaurant in London to launch his own new venture.
McFadden became executive head chef of the restaurant as well as being appointed a company director in 2015, having previously worked as head chef at L'Autre Pied, which closed on Saturday night after a decade in business.
He has worked with Moore for over 10 years and will now be replaced by Asimakis Chaniotis, who becomes head chef.
Commenting on the move, Moore said: "Andy's an amazingly talented chef and we're really proud of all his achievements with us over the past decade. We wish him every success and will always be here for him.
"Asimakis Chaniotis, having been with the Pied family these past five years as sous chef to Marcus [Eaves] and Andy, steps up in time-honoured fashion as head chef at Pied à Terre."
It emerged last month that L'Autre Pied, McFadden's former place of work on Blandford Street was to close after 10 years in business.
Moore is closing the venue to allow him and his team to pursue other opportunities, including potentially creating a restaurant space in the basement next door to Pied à Terre. He will also consult on Noizé, the French restaurant Mathieu Germond, former co-owner and restaurant manager of Pied á Terre, is opening at the former Dabbous site in London Fitzrovia.
