Andrew Sheridan to open restaurant in Worcestershire
Chef Andrew Sheridan has announced plans to launch Black & Green, a 16-cover neighbourhood restaurant in his hometown, Barnt Green in Worcestershire.
Set to launch on 9 June at the former Viva hairdressers site, Black and Green will be the latest addition to the About Dining restaurant group, based in Birmingham city centre and owned by Sheridan alongside husband-and-wife team Sam and Emma Morgan, who live in neighbouring village Blackwell.
The seasonal tasting menu will be overseen by Sheridan and will offer a modern interpretation of British flavours centred around local ingredients, such as beef and root tartar, jumbo plaice with buttermilk sauce, and chocolate and cherry pie.
The venue will have an open kitchen and a chef's bench, while the drinks list will include locally distilled spirits, beers and ciders, including Sharp's Camel Valley Pilsner, and Aspall 1728 cyder. The wine list will support British brands, including Black Country Gold, as well as fortified, low-intervention, organic and bio-dynamic wines.
The menu will be priced at £55 for five courses, or £65 for six, with an optional drinks pairing for £55.
About Dining will continue to oversee 8, Craft, and Divide.
