Andrew Green leaves Mamucium to join Ducie Street Warehouse

Chef Andrew Green has left Mamucium restaurant in Manchester to join Ducie Street Warehouse aparthotel in the city to oversee its restaurant as head chef.

Green previously worked as executive chef at the five-AA-starred, 165-bedroom Lowry hotel and has spent the past two and a half years as executive head chef at Mamucium, which was awarded two AA rosettes and operates within the Hotel Indigo Manchester – Victoria hotel.

Posting on Twitter, Green said: "After what has been an amazing 2.5 years at Mamucium, I am now moving on to new pastures. Extremely proud of what our team achieved in such a short period of time. I wish the restaurant every success for the future."

A spokesperson for Mamucium said: "Andrew Green is a great chef who has played a major role in the restaurant's success to date. Due to the current restrictions in place across the UK, we are not recruiting for a replacement at this time and are working on plans to relaunch later this year, when we are able to operate as a restaurant again."

The 166-bedroom Ducie Street Warehouse is operated by Native and owned by Deka Immobilien, which bought the property for £80m in 2019, shortly after the Grade II-listed redbrick Victorian warehouse near Piccadilly station was refurbished and expanded by Ares and Capital & Centric for a reported £25m.
