Andi Oliver to open Wadadli Kitchen in Hackney Wick
Great British Menu presenter Andi Oliver is bringing her Wadadli Kitchen concept to London's Hackney Wick later this month.
Oliver will open two concepts on 19 August in the former Green House London space at Hackney WickED on the Hamlet Industrial Estate, both of which are expected to operate for a year.
Wadadli Kitchen on the balcony will offer communal dishes, such as seafood boil and Ital oil down, and fine wines, while the Wadadli Roadside takeaway-style diner on the ground floor will serve chocolate curry goat loaded fries, spiced-rub spit-roast chicken, mushroom curry loaded fries and spit-roast spiced veg. Wadadli is the old Arawak word for Antigua.
Posting on Instagram, Oliver said: "The Hackney Wick location will be home to a hive of ideas, activity and fearless flavours that fuse the magic of the Caribbean with the future of multicultural Britain."
Oliver converted her former Andi's restaurant in London's Stoke Newington to Wadadli Kitchen in 2018, which last year became a delivery service and operated at the Crooked Billet pub in Clapton. She also operated the One Love restaurant pop-up in Clapton with Fred Sirieix last year.
