American-style restaurant Brooklyn's to open at Wirral's Marine Point
A new American-style family restaurant is set to open at the £60m Marine Point retail and leisure development in Wirral as the first of a planned chain.
Brooklyn's, which will open in December at the waterfront complex in New Brighton, is the first site for US-born restaurateur Keith Gurney. He has invested £800,000 in the 5,000sq ft restaurant, which will overlook the Marine Lake.
The diner will form a key part of the £40m second phase of the Marine Point scheme by Neptune Developments, which also includes an eight-screen cinema and a 66-bedroom Travelodge hotel as well as the 800-seat Floral Pavilion Theatre and Conference Centre.
Commenting on the launch of Brooklyn's, Gurney said: "We are aiming mostly at families and children during the day and an older market, especially couples and adult groups of friends, in the evening.
"Our offer will complement the new cinema complex and the neighbouring Floral Pavilion Theatre and Riverside Bowling Alley."
Daniel Hynd, Neptune's property director, added: "We are very pleased to welcome Brooklyn's to our Marine Point development, further enhancing the retail and leisure mix on offer for people of all ages.
"Brooklyn's will benefit from the trade already generated by the bowling alley and theatre, as well as the hugely anticipated cinema which is set to open at around the same time."
