Alvin Leung's Michelin-starred restaurant Bo London closes

"Demon chef" Alvin Leung appears to have closed his Michelin-starred London outpost Bo London.

The self-taught chef, who runs Bo Innovation in Hong Kong, opened the Mayfair site in December 2012.

It won a star in the 2014 Michelin Guide, published in September last year.

Leung, who promised to bring his "X-treme cuisine" to the UK with the opening, including controversial dishes like his famous "Sex on the Beach" creation, said at the time of Bo London's launch: "I love the city and am frequently here. I think London offers one of the most diverse and exciting restaurant scenes in the world and I would really like Bo to be a part of that."

UPDATE: Following Caterer's news on the apparently unexpected closure of Bo London, the restaurant's Twitter account tweeted: "To clear some confusion…we are having a refit…this is not the last you've seen from the Demon!"

Caterer was not able to reach anyone at the restaurant for comment or further details on the plans for the site.
