All Star Lanes co-founder Adam Breeden to launch Bounce in the City of London
The co-founder of All Star Lanes is set to launch Bounce, a new venue in the City of London this autumn on the site where table tennis was invented.
Adam Breeden has teamed up with entrepreneur Dov Penzik and Jo Jaques, grandson of the sport's inventor, to open Bounce in Holborn on 1 October. The opening follows hot on the heels of Ping, a similar concept, which opened in Earls Court last month.
With a floor area of 12,500sq ft, Bounce will have seating for up to 130 diners and will offer a menu of pizzas from a wood-fired oven as well as a cocktail bar and 17 table tennis tables. There will also be a private room with table tennis, a cocktail bar and DJ booth.
Interiors will be developed by Russell Sage Studio, whose other projects have included Gordon Ramsay's Pétrus and Bread Street Kitchen, Dishoom and the Balcon.
Other partners in Bounce include Ed and Tom Martin of the ETM Group, Alex Chesterman, global vice-president of Planet Hollywood, and Mark Sainsbury, co-founder of Moro and owner of the Zetter Townhouse hotel.
Commenting on the launch, Breeden said: "Some things are worth reviving and our love of ping pong is one of them. Ping pong is the most accessible - and, we believe, the most fun - sporting activity there is and Bounce is taking the game back to its roots by combining the sport with socialising, entertainment and a touch of glamour, and on the very birthplace of the game."
