Alan Yau to open Spanish restaurant
London restaurateur Alan Yau is planning to launch a Spanish tapas restaurant scheduled for next April, Caterer can exclusively reveal.
The new project will be housed in Norman Foster's landmark offices on the Thames between the Battersea and Albert bridges. A source said the site was about 10,000sq ft and would offer 120 seats plus a further 90 for private dining.
The restaurant, as yet unnamed, will offer rustic Spanish cuisine at about £20 a head, although it's understood a chef has yet to be appointed. The restaurant will open from breakfast until late.
Yau declined to comment on the new project.
\* Yau's latest project, Cha Cha no Hana, will open in the former Shumi site on St James's next February. The modernist Grade II-listed interior will form the basis for a new design by leading Japanese architect Kengo Kuma.
