Airds hotel in the Scottish highlands sold
The Airds hotel and restaurant in Argyll has been sold to hotel investor Benjamin Andrews.
The 11-bedroom hotel in the Scottish Highlands was sold by Shaun and Jenny McKivragan who are to retire after 19 years of operating the business.
The couple have run the hotel, which is a member of Relais & Châteaux and Pride of Britain Hotels, since buying it for £1m in 2003. The Airds hotel restaurant, which has held three-AA-rosettes since 1996, is led by head chef Calum Innes.
The sale was handled by Colliers and Christie + Co as joint agents. Colliers associate director Robert Smithson said: "The sale of the Airds again underlines the popularity of quality hotels in beautiful tourist locations.
"I am thrilled that the Airds has been sold to someone who will continue the legacy of the McKivragans and continue to offer the high levels of quality and service the hotel is famous for which brings customers back to the area year after year. I wish Benjamin the best of luck with his operation of the hotel."
