Chef Adam Reid to open the Butty Shop in Manchester
Chef Adam Reid is to open a butty shop at Manchester's New Century Hall development this summer.
Named ‘the Butty Shop', it will serve specialist sandwiches for breakfast, lunch and dinner and sides such as pickled eggs and potato salad.
A press announcement said the concept would "aim to bring the British butty back to life, with classic Northern flavours built on the memories of childhood visits to the bakery".
It will be the first food hall concept for Reid, a two-time Great British Menu winner and chef-patron of Adam Reid at the French in Manchester.
Manchester's Grade II-listed New Century Hall is undergoing a £10m development into an events and music venue with a 10,000 sq ft food hall seating up to 300 people.
It will house six independent food traders, including plant-based Vietnamese and Thai-inspired restaurant Banh Vi. They will be joined by BaoBros23, which serves bao buns, loaded fries and desserts at Riverhead Brewery Tap in Marsden.
The food hall will also feature coffee and grab-and-go concepts.
