Acorn Winner 2006: Anneliese Hainz

Anneliese Hainz
Age: 28
Position: Reservations director, Gordon Ramsay Holdings

Career to date… Hainz started her career as customer service adviser for the British Airways London Eye before becoming general manager at the North Pole, London. Since then, she has had a number of roles as receptionist and reception manager, including Mash Mayfair and the Admiralty Bar, both in London. She has been with Gordon Ramsay Holdings since 2002 and is responsible for calls and reservations for all the restaurants in the group.

Why is she a winner? Hainz is a member of the senior management team and liaises with all restaurant directors and head chefs on a daily basis. She is responsible for promotions and is working on the launch of the new Gordon Ramsay website. Her team handles the first guest introduction to the restaurant with efficiency, and this confirms her attention to detail, personal pride in achievement and total commitment to the guest.

Maze opened in 2005 and Hainz's team of 25 (up from four when she joined the team) handles about 2,800 calls per day, fielding enquiries on subjects ranging from table reservations to: "How are the F Word turkeys?"

She encourages young people into the industry at all times, specifically through her work with the Gordon Ramsay Scholar award, and at the Restaurant Show and the BBC Good Food Show. In her spare time, she is reading Events Management at university.
