Acorn House names second venture
Acorn House, London's first environmentally sustainable training restaurant, has unveiled the name for its second venue which was first revealed by Caterer earlier this year.
Water House Restaurant will open in Hoxton, east London at the end of November and will comprise the "greenest urban restaurant in the world" according to executive chef Arthur Potts Dawson.
"The new site will be run much the same way as Acorn House but will be even more environmentally friendly," he told Caterer.
Acorn House, which opened in November last year, is a joint initiative between the Shoreditch Trust, the Terrence Higgins Trust and Bliss Restaurant Consultancy.
It uses recycled and organic materials, purifies its water on site and recycles all its kitchen waste. Its menu reflects the capital's cultural diversity and is focused on seasonal, locally sourced and sustainable produce.
