Acorn award winner Ben Dantzic to open Glasgow burger restaurant

A former Acorn award winner is set to open a new burger restaurant in Glasgow next month.

Ben Dantzic, who picked up an Acorn award in 2012, has teamed up with James Forrest.

The pair, who met working at the Michelin-starred Peat Inn in Fife, are to open Burger Meats Bun on 5 July, according to the Scottish Herald.

The restaurant, which is expected to have a "New York underground vibe" will serve burgers made from Scottish beef, using ingredients from local artisan suppliers.

It will also offer a range of independent Scottish beers.

Dantzic, who worked at Restaurant Andrew Fairlie in Gleneagles hotel, said: "Burger Meats Bun fuses high-quality produce and mouth-watering recipes with a cool interior and atmosphere to offer a brilliant, yet accessible culinary experience and we're really excited to be bringing this new concept to Glasgow."
