Absolute Taste putts in multi-year catering deal for Open golf championship
Absolute Taste has won a multi-year contract with R&A the organisers of the Open golf championship to provide catering services at the event.
The 149th Open championship will begin at Royal St George's Golf Club, Kent in July and continue through to the 150th Open at St Andrews, Scotland in 2021. The full-term and value of the contract have not been disclosed.
The deal will see Absolute Taste provide bespoke menus that utilise seasonal ingredients and local produce.
Executive director of championships at R&A, Johnnie Cole-Hamilton, said: "The quality of food and drink is an important part of making the Open a memorable experience for fans and hospitality guests and we know that Absolute Taste has an excellent reputation in catering for major sporting events. We look forward to working with them to develop an exciting and sustainable range of food and drink choices for those attending the championship."
Absolute Taste was founded in 1999 and was acquired in 2016 by One Event Management. It has catered several high-profile events including Nelson Mandela's 90th birthday. It won the 2013 Event Caterer of the Year at the Foodservice Cateys awards.
